Ways That You Can Introduce Your Friends to Your Religion

Are you the member of a church congregation? If you are, there is a good chance that you may be interested spreading your words and messages of faith. While this is more than possible to do, you may want to proceed with caution. Unfortunately, many times, those who are interested in sharing their religious news and events do so with those that they know and are most familiar with, like friends or family members.

Although it is important to hear that you should proceed with caution, when looking to educate your friends, family members, coworkers, or neighbors, on your religion, you may be wondering why that is so important. What you need to remember is that not all individuals have the same beliefs as you do. In fact, you may even know some individuals who do not attend church at all or those who do not have any intentions of doing so in the future. If you value your friendships or your relationships with these individuals, you will want to make sure that you proceed with caution, as you do not want to cross any lines.

One of the biggest mistakes that many church followers make is by attempting to first convert their friends, family members, neighbors, or coworkers to their religion. This is an approach that you do not want to take, as it may lead to a few uncomfortable situations, as well possibly even a strain on your friendship. Even if it is your goal to help your church congregation increase its Sunday attendance count, there are a different approaches that you can take. These approaches should include the internet, community bulletin boards, or newspaper classified advertisements.

As outlined above, you may not want to straight out try and convince your friends, family members, or congregation to become a member of your church congregation, especially in a matter than may come across as pushy or over the top. With that in mind, that doesn’t not mean that you cannot carefully express your interest in your own church. Many do not really think about this, but there are steps that you can take to go about informing those that you know about your church, as well as educating them on your church without seeming pushy at all.

One of the many ways that you can go about introducing your friends, family members, coworkers, or neighbors to your religion is by inviting them along with you to attend a community event or a fundraiser that your church may be sponsoring. For instance, if you are hosting an outdoor concert or a dinner date night for parents, you may want to encourage those that you know to attend. Emphasize on the point that fundraisers are for good causes, as well as the fun that they can have. In fact, speaking of that fun, if those that you know like what they see, there is a good change that they will ask you, themselves, for more information on your religion, like what may be expected of you.

As previously touched on above, it is important that you proceed with caution when discussing your religion with those that you know. As much as you value your religion, it is important to remember that not all individuals do and you should hold their decision for that in respect, regardless of whether it is one that you agree with.

Why take an Anger Management Course

Learning to control anger is a huge task for some individuals. Wanting to and being able to do it are two entirely different things. A person with anger issues may be committed to making changes in their behavioral patterns in the heart and mind but without setting these intentions in motion, there won’t be any positive results. People like this require encouragement and support. They need to realize that they are not unique in their problem but in fact there are thousands more just like them. Singling out an individual with anger management issues is not a good move. However encouraging them and letting them know they are not alone in this fight may make a difference in their decision to seek help.

An anger management course may be suggested to an individual seeking help for their problem. These courses are designed to help people, in a group setting, to learn about anger management. These courses may take a day and sometimes anger management courses are turned into a retreat. Throughout these courses, people are taught useful lessons in anger management such as techniques and strategies for controlling their anger. They are taught to deal with their feelings and emotions, discover what it is that brings out the fits of rage. Some courses focus specifically on one topic, like letting go of negative emotions, releasing bad energy and transforming it into success and freedom. There are many lessons to be learned through attending an anger management course.

Anger management courses are not only targeted at adults. There are programs such as retreats and camps for children, adolescents and teenagers as well. Teenagers might take in an anger management course that is provided at a beautiful camp. Besides sitting in on classes and lectures with regards to the anger management course, there would also be opportunities to interact with other teenagers, to take part in fun activities and form friendships. An anger management course for a teenager may result in a person forming their own support system, people to call on when they are overwhelmed by challenging situations. An anger management course can provide so much more than information.

An anger management course may be the most powerful tool an individual may use to combat their anger issues. For people who a trying daily to fight their negative emotions and deal with their anger, it is important to be involved in programs which offer support and understanding. Attending an anger management course would prove to an individual that there are people who care, who understand and who are committed to helping them with their problem. In a group setting, an individual would not feel singled out and may not feel intimidated or humiliated. Because the entire group is experiencing similar problems, there would be a general sense of understanding.

If an individual is interested in attending an anger management course, perhaps they should check with local resources such as a doctor or medical professional. There is also likely to be a mental health organization or program in the area, they would definitely have details about upcoming anger management courses. The Internet is also a great resource when seeking information about anger management related services, such as an anger management course. It is imperative to explore all possible avenues of support when seeking anger management help.

Should Your Church Do Community Fundraisers?

Are you a church leader or are you a church member who is active in community related activities? If you are, are you and the rest of your church congregation interested in raising money for a worthy cause? If you are, you may be wondering about ways that you can go about raising money. One of those ways includes holding a fundraiser.

As nice and as successful as many fundraisers are, it is important to remember that they are not for everyone. In fact, there are many religious groups or church leaders who feel uncomfortable approaching community members asking for donations, particularly community members who are inactive in the church community. While this feeling is one that is completely normal, it is advised that you take your concerns and toss them to the side. By not taking full advantage of fundraisers, you, your church, and your congregation can lose out on a significant amount of money, money that could be put to good use.

If you are still unsure as to whether or not a church related fundraiser is right for you, there are a number of questions that you will want to first ask yourself, before making your final decision. One of the many questions that you should ask yourself is what you are attempting to raise money for. If you are interested in raising money for a worthy cause, such as research to help combat deadly illnesses, such as cancer, you may want to use fundraisers to your advantage. This is because many individuals, even those who are not active church goers, love donating to a good cause, especially one that they may have had or will possibly have a direct connection to in the future.

Another one of the questions that you will want to ask yourself, when determining if a fundraiser is right for your church, is how quick you need to raise funds. If you are interested in acquiring money or donations to improve your church facility, these repairs may need to be made right away. If that is the case, you may be unable to wait for your congregation to donate extra money that they have available as it comes along. For instances or circumstances where money is needed right away, you may want to consider hosting a fundraiser, as they are often very easy to plan and prepare for, as well as very successful.

Another one of the many questions that you may want to ask yourself, when determining if a church sponsored fundraiser is right for you and your church congregation is the overall size of your community. As it was previously stated, many fundraisers are successful at raising money for good causes. The larger your community is, the more donations you are able to secure. For that reason, if your church is located in a community that is large in size, especially one where the residents are receptive to fundraisers, you may want to use the situation to your advantage, as it can benefit your cause in more ways than one

As you likely already know, it is your decision as to whether or not your church should have a fundraiser. With that in mind, it is also important to remember the benefits of doing so, as well as all of the options that you have. Popular fundraisers include dinners, book sales, and craft fairs.

Why not Watch an Anger Management Movie?

Since anger management seems to be a huge problem in society today, there have been many programs developed, books written, Internet websites created and anger management movies filmed. Although all of this help is in place an available for anyone, not all people with anger issues benefit from the same source. For some people attending an anger mangement program may be effective and cause major changes in their behaviour. Being able to steal away alone with a book may be helpful to a person with anger issues. Seeing their problems in print and being able to sort throught it in their mind might be a great anger management tool. The Internet is a great source regarding anger mangement and some may find it helpful to view the different sites and read stories about individuals with anger mangement issues. However for many people who have difficulties controlling their anger, watching an anger mangement movie might be what it takes to break them out of their pattern of angry outbursts.

Watching an anger management movie would make the individual actually see, with their own eyes and hear with their own ears, just what anger does to a person and those around them. An anger management movie would likely provide illustrations and situations where individuals act on their anger. The movie may apply exactly to an individual’s current circumstance. It may hit home - so to speak. Watching the actors play out their life and their behaviour may be an eye-opener. It may take watching a husband abuse a child or wife, a mother attacking her kid, a child bullying another child, to realize that anger is a significant problem.

When an angry person is in their situation, they are likely blaming it on whoever gets in the way. Being in the picture they are incapable of watching their performance. If given the chance to see it on the big screen, they might be surprised and even devestated by their actions. Watching an anger manageent movie would probably be like watching yourself in a similar situation. This may be the tool that works best for some individuals.

An anger management movie will not only give illustrations of the actual situations involving anger. The movie will likely provide information regarding anger management techniques. Using these techniques and the characters in the movie, likely there would be illustrations of people being introduced to anger management techniques and programs. The movie would explain the steps to dealing with anger issues. This type of anger mangement movie might be the answer to many people’s problems. It would be fitting if the anger mangement movie showed the person in the same situation as the first scene, as a changed individual. Showing how the individual was able to receive help through anger management and turn their lives around, may just be the incentive needed.

No doubt there are all sorts of anger management movies available. The Internet is a great source of information regarding anger management and anger management resources such as books and anger mangagement movies. If you think you or someone you know would benefit from watching an anger management movie, it would be a wise idea to get your hands on one.

How to Go About Finding a Church to Join

Have you recently decided that you would like to reexamine your involvement in religion? If you have, you may be interested in joining a new church. If that is the case, you may be wondering exactly how you can go about doing so. The first step in find a new church group to join is examining all of your options. This can involve examining all local church congregations in or around your area.

One of the many ways that you can go about finding a church to attend is by asking those that you know for recommendations. This is ideal if you have any friends, family members, neighbors, or coworkers who attend church. What you will want to do is ask them what they like most about their church. How they do they feel about the service, the church leaders, as well as other church members?

In addition simply asking those that you know for information on local churches, you may want to see about attending church with them. If you have any close friends, neighbors, or family members, you may want to see if you can attend a church service with them as a guest. This is one of the best ways to go about finding a new church, as you are able to see first hand what goes on every week. You may also be able to get a quick meeting with church leaders when attending service with someone that you know.

Another one of the many ways that you can go about finding a church to attend or become a member of is by using the internet. What is nice about using the internet to help you find churches is that you have a number of different options. For instance, you can use online phone books or online business directories. These are online resources that allow you to search for a particular place, like a church, in a specific area, like your city and state. If the church in question also has an online website, you may be given access to that online website.

In addition to using online business directories or online phone books, you can also use standard internet searches to find religion based websites. Often times these websites have functions where you may be able to search for local churches online. If an online feature is not available, you may be able to send an email or place a quick telephone call to the individual or company in charge of keeping up the website. This approach is particularly important if you would like to attend a church that has a focus on a religion that you have an interest or a belief in.

As previously stated, you should be able to use online phone books to help you find a local church, which you may want to examine. If you do not have internet access or if you prefer using your local phone book, you can also do so. Many churches have listings in the business directory section or the yellow pages section of local phone books. These listings are commonly found under the heading of “churches.” This will give you a good starting point, as you may be able to contact church leaders for additional information or you may even be able to set up an appointment.

As a reminder, when it comes to finding a church congregation to attend and become a member of, you will want to do more than just find a church, you will want to choose one. This is something that may involve a few congregation visits, as well as a little bit of research and comparison on your part. Once you join a church congregation, you make a commitment, hopefully a lifelong commitment. For that reason, you will want to make sure that you choose to join a church that is operated in a matter in which you approve of, as well as one that has an environment that you feel comfortable belonging to.

What are some Anger Management Techniques?

Having trouble controlling anger is a major issue in many individual’s lives. Addressing this issue can be difficult if the person is unwilling to admit to their problem and seek help. It is imperative that people be supportive and encouraging to those with anger issues. At times it may seem impossible since these people can be hurtful and even violent. Helping them to realize they need help would be the initial step to controlling their anger.

Once an individual is willing to work on their anger problem and turn to anger management, there are anger management techniques which will be taught to help them. There are many techniques which are beneficial regarding anger management. It might be necessary for the individual to try them all in order to find anger management techniques that work best for them.

One technique recommended for anger management is relaxation. Angry feelings and emotions can be calmed by relaxing exercises such as deep breathing, relaxing imagery and slow nonstrenuous exercise similar to yoga. When a person becomes irritated and headed for a fit of anger, it is suggested they breathe deeply. This technique recommends that the person breathe from their diaphragm in order to relax. Using relaxing imagery may work for some people. Allowing their mind and thoughts to go to a happy place, a relaxing experience may help to calm them down. This imagery may be of a past experience or the individual could use their imagination. The yoga-like exercises used as an anger management technique are meant to relax the muscles which in turn will help the individual feel much calmer.

Problem solving is used as an anger management technique. It is important for an individual to discover the reason for their anger. Anger is a natural response to certain situations and at times it is an acceptable reaction but there are other incidents when the anger is not appropriate. There is a reason for the anger and to every problem there is said to be a solution. When a situation arises, the individual is taught not to focus on the solution but rather the problem. Finding ways to handle the problem and confront it is the main objective in this anger management technique. It may take awhile to conform to this plan. It is important to stick to it, eventually the answers will come.

People with anger issues are taught through anger management techniques to practice better communication skills. Often a fit of anger arises because an individual misunderstood a conversation. Before giving it any thought, they become enraged and filled with anger. Anger management teaches the individual to slow down their thinking, think before they speak or react. The easily angered person needs to listen to the underlying message and try not to jump to conclusions. When feeling on the defensive side, the individual should learn not to fight back. Listening rationally to what the other person has to say might make a huge difference in a reaction.

These are just a few anger management techniques. There are many others which may be helpful to an individual requiring help. There are many books, movies and website on the Internet which can provide information regarding anger management techniques.

Concerts: A Great Religious Event to Host

Are you a church leader or a member in your church group who is regularly involved in the planning of community events? If you are, has your church ever held a public concert, either as a free community event or as a fundraiser? If this is an approach that you have yet to take, you may want to consider doing so, as there are a number of benefits to reaching out to your community by way of music.

Before examining a few of the many benefits of hosting a community concert, either as a free event or as a fundraiser, it is important to examine the options that you have. As you likely already know concerts and music events come in a number of different sizes, shapes, and styles. This is something that you may want to use to your advantage.

When planning a concert for your community, either as a free event or as a fundraiser, it is advised that you place a focus on children. It is always said that children are our future and that couldn’t be more true. If you want your church congregation to continue on, even after you have passed, you will want to place a focus on children. That is why it may be a good idea to host a concert that targets children and their parents. The songs sung should have a kids theme to them. In addition to a kids concert, you may also want to turn the event into a fun filled day. This can easily be done with games, foods, and drinks.

As important as it is to place a focus on the children in or around your community, you will also want to make sure that you place a focus on adults as well. That is why it is advised that you consider hosting concerts that may be ideal for adults and possibly even adults only. These types of concerts are ones that you may want to schedule a little bit later in the evening. You may end up finding that many of your attendees use your religious concert as a way to get out of the home or even as a date night.

As for the benefits of hosting a religious concert, either as a free event or as a fundraiser, you will find that there are an unlimited number of benefits to doing so. One of those benefits is the interest that may be generated in your church and the new members that may join. What you need to remember is that many individuals would like to attend church, but many are afraid to take the first step. A community concert, especially if you have church officials on hand, may be the perfect opportunity for hopeful church goers to express interest in your church group, as well as ask any questions that they may have.

Another one of the many benefits to using concerts as a way to insert yourself into the community and make your presence known it that it is relatively easy to do so. Depending on the size of your church, as well as how it is operated, you may have a church choir or even a church music group. If that is the case, your own members can put on the concerts that you would like to host. With that in mind, you may also want to take steps to see if you can find any locally well-known music artists who would be willing to perform a concert with you as their sponsor. As for locations, many choose to use their own facilities, but you may also want to use local parks as locations for a concert, as well as other fundraisers or free events that you may be interested in planning.

As outlined above, there are a number of benefits to using concerts as a way to reach out into your community. Those benefits include a possible increase in interest at church services, as well as the ability to raise money for a good cause, especially if you are interested in using your concert or concerts as fundraisers.

The Birth of my Perspective on Life

  Hi, I’m Steve :)

Here is just a little bit about where I have been and how my perspective has evolved over 65 + years on this amazing Planet, with its amazing people. I have been excited to be here most of my life.

I have devoted my life to understanding Human Behavior in all its variations. I grew up poor and uneducated, but definitely inspired to fullfill my family’s desire that I go to college and become someone who helped and served others. I came from a religious family that believed in service to others.

My journey started out very well. I talked very early and was a tremendous success in Pre-School, Kindergarden, and 1st Grade. It all fell apart in 2nd Grade. I was absolutely not equipped for Dick and Jane Readers, Math Fact and Spelling Tests, and my worst experience; standing up at the Blackboard and attempting to regurgitate memorized data that the teacher recited. I Flunked 2nd Grade!

It all went down hill from there. I will be brief; I became enraged at how I was treated, how I was told to Just Try Harder, how I was told my behavior Made No Sense, but mostly how I must Change to fit the Society I was In! The result… I violently rejected the society that was rejecting me!

At 19, I was headed in a very wrong direction to achieve what my family had instilled in me earlier. I ended up in jail and the jailer, who became my mentor until he died, offered me an opportunity I was moved to accept.

John, my mentor, told me he would get rid of my juvenile and adult criminal records If I would try to go to College! John told me he would pick all my professors and let them know that I did not have the type of Intelligence required to take tests or write papers. The skill he told me I had was to link with and understand Ideas, communicate with and connect others, and synthesize information and ideas.

John only gave me two weeks to convince my professors of my abilities. He told them he was just giving me a chance to succeed and become a teacher for students like me.

He was right! College was considerably different in many ways from regular school. Professors gave me better grades than I earned on tests and papers. I did what John said and never took a class where the grade was determined, solely, by Mid Term, Final, and Term Paper. He suggested I live in the Professors Office as much as possible and convince them I understood how to Use the Subject, even though my tests and papers were Not Adequate.

If Jr. High and High School had been like College; I would have not become so detached from Society.

College was not even easy for me. John told me I would have to work Ten Times as hard to get a “C” as someone else did to get an “A”. He was right and extreme hard work by me Paid Off. It took me 5 years to get my BA Degree and my General K-8 Teaching Credential. I took me another 10 years to get a Master’s Degree in Human Behavior and Counseling. I also earned a Standard Secondary, 8-12, Teaching Credential and a K-14 Counseling Credential. John was extremely proud!

After John died, I went back to San Diego State University. SDSU was just a State College when I started in 1961. At 50, I went back and received another 200 + units of classes in Sociology, Theology, and Counseling in order to better prepare me for my future in Education, Counseling, and Ministry.

I am not sure what the future holds, but I want to be part of improving the lot of the least of these, my brothers and sisters whom I can help; Just as someone helped me.

How You Can Stay Up-to-Date on the Latest Religious News and Events

Do you regularly find yourself wondering what is going on with your local churches or what is happening in the world of religion? If you do, you may be interested in taking steps to ensure that you are regularly updated and informed on the latest happenings in religious news and events. If you are looking to do so, you may be pleased to know that you have a number of different options.

If you are already the member of a church in or around your community, you may find it relatively easy to stay informed and up-to-date on religious news and happenings. For instance, many churches post information concerning important news and upcoming events in their church newsletters. Many churches mail their newsletters to members at their homes or distribute them after church services have ended. Be sure to regularly read all church newsletters that you are given.

Another one of the many ways that you can go about making sure that you are updated on some of the latest religious news and events happening, namely in or around your community, is by taking the time to speak with church officials, such as office workers or preachers. Perhaps, this is easiest if you are already a church member. If you do not currently attend church, but you would still likely to be involved in many community related church events, you can still contact your local churches. What you will want to do is ask if they have any important news to share or if they have information on upcoming events, namely ones in which the community is invited to attend.

If you are unable to speak with church officials or if you feel uncomfortable doing so, especially if you are not an active church member, you may want to use the internet to your advantage. If your church has an online website you may want to visit that online website. If you are a church member who finds that your church doesn’t even have an online website or that the one they do have is rarely updated, you may want to approach church officials, namely your pastor, with your concerns.

Even if you currently do not attend church, but you would still like to attend community events or just stay well informed, you can also use the internet. If you already know the names of your local churches, you may want to perform a standard internet search with those names. You should also be able to use online business directories as well. Online business directories should connect you to any applicable online websites, as well as give you names, addresses, and telephone numbers for local churches in your area.

Another one of the many ways that you can go about staying updated on the latest happenings in religion, particularly concerning news and events, is by keeping your eyes and your ears open at all times. You may be surprised what you can learn when you least expect it. Of course, with that in mind, it is important that you are able to distinguish the difference between accurate information and misleading information.

As outlined above, there are a number of different ways that you can go about staying up-to-date and educated on the latest happening in some of your community churches and in religions in general. As a reminder, even if you do not attend church or have a need to so in the near future, it doesn’t mean that you cannot support your local church group at fundraisers or other community events.
